Dubai Appoints Its First Female Duty Police Officer & We Can’t Be More Proud

Like it or not, women are born leaders and possess great capabilities to participate in building a secure community. Being a police offer is no longer just a man’s job. Today, women are playing influential roles as highly skilled policewomen in the UAE, thanks to the government’s efforts to ensure women have a role in the country’s security apparatus.

In many of firsts, Dubai now has a female officer who is making the country proud. For the very first time; Dubai has appointed a female general duty police officer and we couldn’t be more proud! Lieutenant Nouf Khaled Ahli is the first female general duty police officer at Naif Police Station in Dubai. Social media was abuzz with pictures of her joining along with a post that read:

“The first general alternate officer for a police station from the female element in Dubai. Lieutenant Nouf Khaled Ahli is the first ‘General Alternate Officer of the Women’s Element’ at the level of the Dubai Police, adding to the successes of the Women’s division in Dubai Police, by serving as a General Officer of the Naif Police Station.”

Lieutenant Nouf Khaled Ahli graduated from the Dubai Police Academy and was part of the first batch of Dubai Police female candidates. She is now the first Emirati officer to work as a ‘duty police officer’.

Nouf was trained at Naif Police Station in multiple fields, including administrative, security, legal, criminal and fieldwork. Speaking to the media about the big win, she said that was proud to join as the first female officer. She further said that she insisted on joining the team after she observed a lack of female cadres in the field. With her joining, Nouf wants to take on this new challenge, believing that women can handle such duties.

Nouf also said that the training she received while studying at the Dubai Police Academy, practical application at the Naif Police Station, and supporting the station has helped elevate the skills that helped her perform duties as a police station’s alternate officer.

“Working at Dubai Police is like a dream for many people seeking excellence, creativity and innovation. In addition to providing a unique work environment, Dubai Police supports its staff on all levels and empowers female forces through launching initiatives and programmes that all aim to develop their capabilities and skills across various disciplines,” Nouf told the media.
