Revealed in a report by the Arabian Business, it was mentioned that the Dubai Mall has now announced a major expansion plan. Costing about AED1.5 billion, this massive expansion of the mall by Emaar includes the building of 240 new stores and food & beverage outlets. As it happens, The contractor is already mobilising on-site! So, with the addition of these new luxury stores and food outlets, the mall is bound to get some great additions. It’s worth mentioning that this expansion is a reflection of Dubai’s ambitious vision of remaining at the forefront of global innovation and culture.
It’s worth noting that in 2023, Dubai Mall was declared to be the most visited place on earth. Achieving a new attendance record of 105 million visitors, this was a 19% increase from the previous year. Not to mention, it was paired with exceptionally strong sales! And with the momentum continuing in 2024, this mall remains a global retail and leisure icon.

With this announcement by Emaar, visitors can expect some pretty amazing additions to the already fantastic retail destination. It should be noted that currently, the mall houses 1,200 retail outlets. It has two anchor department stores, Galeries Lafayette and Bloomindale’s! In fact, it also has 200 international dining options! Also home to Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo, this mall has several other entertainment areas, such as Reel Cinema’s 24-screen-cineplex, KidZania Dubai, Dubai Ice Rink, Play DXB, and KidZania, to name some.
So, once the expansion is complete, this mall is bound to attract even more visitors, including locals and tourists alike.
