Dubai Mom Walked 16km To Poland To Escape Ukraine & Reunite With Son

The wrath of war was the last thing anyone expected after two years of suffering due to pandemic. Unfortunately, we celebrated the endemic quick being naive enough not predicting another crisis. The Ukraine-Russia war came as a blow for everyone around the globe. A recent heart-wrenching story was of a Dubai Mom who went walking across Poland to Dubai. All this peril to reunite with her daughter.

Families Separated During This Hard Times

Ukrainian families are under the pressure of separating for safeguarding their land in war. Or split to fend their families. Since the Russian invasion began, nearly 660,000 refugees fled Ukraine for neighbouring nations. According to the United Nations refugee agency, this is the statistics. It increased from the previous day’s figure of more than 500,000.

It’s an understatement to say that the scenario on Ukraine’s borderline is bleak. Similar to this Dubai mom,  millions of people flocked to the bridge, many carrying children and luggage. There’s a seemingly endless queue of vehicles extended for kilometres. Many people had been queuing for more than 48 hours to cross the border.

Brave Dubai Mom Underwent Freezing Temperatures To Reunite With Her Child

Sofya Shamuzzi travelled alone for 16 kilometres (km) in the middle of the night to flee her war-torn nation. This Ukrainian woman rejoined her kids in Dubai. Last Thursday, the mother of four was on a work trip to Kyiv. That’s when Russia started an early-morning attack on the Ukrainian capital. On February 23, Shamuzzi arrived in Kyiv. This Dubai mom was waiting to fly back to Dubai two days later.

But Ukraine blocked its airspace owing to safety concerns, leaving her stuck. On February 25, when the battle grew more intense, Shamuzzi called some acquaintances at the Kazakhstan embassy. With her procedures completed, Shamuzzi walked 16 km, boarded a bus and somehow ended her journey.
