Due to humanitarian reasons, the Ministry of Health has announced certain travel relaxations for Indians returning to India from Ukraine. Some Indians have already been evacuated from the war-struck nation, while many others are stranded and yet to return. For their convenience, the health ministry has lifted the requirement of pre-departure COVID-19 tests. Also, they would not need to upload documents before travelling on the Air Suvidha portal. Pre-departure tests from travelling to India from other countries will still remain mandatory.

What Are The New Relaxations For Travelling To India From Ukraine?
Those travelling to India from Ukraine amid war tensions will be subject to the following relaxations:
1. No pre-departure COVID-19 tests needed
2. Uploading of documents on Air Suvidha Portal not needed
3. Travellers who could not undergo pre-departure tests or are not fully vaccinated can submit samples after arriving in India.
4. Fully vaccinated travellers can directly leave the airport
The ministry has however recommended that the travellers should monitor their health for 2 weeks. Those testing positive will need to be under clinical observation.

Indian Embassy Issues Fresh Advisories For Stranded Nations In Ukraine
As per the information updated on February 28, 2022, 1156 Indians have reached India from Ukraine. None of the arriving passengers was told to undergo quarantine. Meanwhile, the Indian embassy in Ukraine has announced certain advisories for those stranded in the country. It has advised them to remain in groups, carry essentials including food and cash and use the nearest railway stations to move out of conflict zones.

Also, as per the latest update, the Indian Embassy has asked Indians to leave Kyiv urgently, preferably by trains or any other means of transport.

All Indian nationals including students are advised to leave Kyiv urgently today. Preferably by available trains or through any other means available.
