Dubai To Issue 10-Year Cultural Visa To 5000 People From Around The World

Dubai to issue a first-of-its-kind cultural visa to the 5000 people from around the world. The announcement of this one-of-its-kind visa was made by the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority. The cultural visa initiative launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, in 2019 and here’s everything you must know about it.

A Majority Of Candidates Have Been Already Issued Visas

The visa was first announced in 2019, and since then, Dubai culture has received 261 cultural visa applications from 46 countries. Out of these applications, 120 candidates have met the requirement, and the majority of them have been issued visas as well. And for the rest, the permit is under process.

The initiative was launched to position Dubai as a global centre for culture, creative and global hub for talent. Speaking about this initiative and the applicants, Hala Badri, Director-General of Dubai Culture, said: 

“Dubai provides a stimulating and supportive environment for creativity and creators. Its contributions have helped raise the UAE’s position in the global cultural landscape by attracting exceptional writers, artists and creators.”

Here’s How You Can Apply For Cultural Visa In Dubai 

Speaking about the long-term visa plan, she added, 

“The long-term cultural visa provides talented people with a stable base in Dubai and contributes to enhancing the emirate’s growth by stimulating the creative economy. This will result in creating more jobs in the sector, especially as Dubai has a strong cultural foundation and diverse creative sectors that offer attractive opportunities to intellectuals and creative people. Enabling more eligible individuals to receive this visa has always been part of this pioneering initiative’s strategic plan.”

A candidate needs to give proof of years of residency in the country, should have creative achievements and should be willing to meet optional conditions and pledges for each category, including a pledge to contribute 36 hours of service to the community in the UAE in creative or artistic capacities.
