Delhi is known for its food and the foodies. But we have a piece of news for all the foodies who love going out trying new cafes, restaurants, food courts or dhabas. Eating out in cafes, food courts, restaurants or dhabas in the capital of the country, Delhi is going to become a bit costly. In order to bring uniformity in rates, the corporation has raised health trade license costs which will affect the price of the final product.
Cost Of Health Trade License Increases
The corporation has raised health trade license costs in the former North and East MCD’s jurisdictional areas, in order to bring uniformity in rates. According to the MCD regulations, obtaining a license is required for over 100 different company types, including grocery stores, paan shops, salons, water trolleys, circuses, clubs, sweet shops, drug stores, ice cream manufacturers, restaurants, and amusement parks. In case of violations, the corporation has all the rights to issue a challan. Previously the rates in the South were higher than the North and the East, but now it is being increased to match the South.

The Annual License Fees Has Increased
Restaurants which had up to 20 seats, have been increased to ₹10,000 which previously was between ₹240 to ₹10,000. The annual license fee for banquet halls was between ₹5000 and ₹25,000 but that has now been hiked to ₹25,000. The license fee for coffee houses now is ₹10,000 while earlier it was ₹240 to ₹10,000. The registration fees for Dhaba was between ₹2,500 to ₹10,000 and now has been hiked to ₹25,000. A senior official of MCD said that there is no harm in paying these increased amounts as for years the amount was the same for North and East.
