Dubai Metro Music Festival
The third edition of Dubai’s famed Metro Music Festival begins today. Happening across five metro stations in Dubai, it’s a great way to meet new people and maybe get a little groovy, while you’re on your way to the destination of travel. The festival is being organised by Brand Dubai, in collaboration with the Roads and Transport Authority, and will go on till the 12th of March, Sunday. For those who’re unaware, Brand Dubai is the creative offshoot of the Government of Dubai Media Office! It is worth mentioning that this fiesta is a week-long celebration of global music, and the aim is to bring together some of the most innovatively talented musicians.
20 Artists On 5 Metro Stations
As mentioned above, a line-up of 20 artists has been selected for the performances at five metro stations. The myriad range of performances includes string, percussion wind, acoustic, and many other instruments. In fact, some of these also include those made of recycled objects. The performances are slated to take place at five designated metro stations, these include – Union, Mall of Emirates, Burjuman, Dubai Financial Centre, and Sobha Realty.
Theme Of The Festival
The performances are slated to happen between 4 – 10 pm. This year, the theme of the event is sustainability! As it happens, it is in line with the UAE’s announcement of 2023 as the ‘Year of Sustainability’. This event brings together talented artists who excel are traditional and experimental musicians, classical instrumentalists, and fusion musicians. So, this festival is surely going to be a treat for commuters!
