UAE residents are awaiting the Eid Al Adha break and are planning a relaxing holiday. Skyscanner, a global leader in travel, has revealed the travel trends, including top destinations, departure date and more. In fact, it also revealed for how long will the holiday last for.

According to the Skyscanner data, most people are planning to depart on June 14, 2024—an ideal date for many. Further, five global destinations are among the popular and trending holiday destinations:

1. New York

2. Tokyo 

3. Athens

4. Dublin

5. Malé 

In fact, each of them is experiencing year-on-year spike in June departure. The data also has a list of most searched places by UAE residents and they are:

1. London

2. Athens

3. New York

4. Cairo

5. Manchester

As for the holiday period, most people—53 per cent—are looking for a trip that is week-long or less. As for a 33 per cent of travellers are planning to spend more than a week or two long on their trip. But the rest 14 per cent want to spend a month relaxing!

According to Ayoub El Mamoun, Skyscanner’s Travel Expert, they are facing a shift in travel preferences among the Emiratis. As for the trending destinations, it displays the residents adventurous spirit and is inspiring to witness the diversity. The places certainly offers a glimpse of its culture, history and more. Further, he stated that the company is committed to empower the travellers with seamless booking experience and comprehensive insights.

Lastly, people who are still deciding on holiday destination, Skyscanner offers an ‘Everywhere’ search option. It is the easiest option and offers cheapest and best flights. Further, the site also offers “up whole month” option which allows you flexible dates for your selected destination. In UAE, Eid Al Adha is a major, 5-day long holiday and is expected to start around June 16 or 17, according to astronomical calculations.
