They say, “To be an actor, you have to be a child”. The journey of Sanjana Sangi to Bollywood started as a child actress in Imtiaz Ali’s 2011 movie, Rockstar. After her spectacular acting in the role of Mandy in Rockstar, there was no stopping for Sanjana to rise and shine and become one of the leading ladies in Bollywood. After acting in prominent Hindi movies like Hindi Medium and Fukrey Returns, she left everyone spellbound with her heart-touching role of Kizie Basu in Dil Bechara. So, our CTO Kamiya Jani met her over a royal fiesta with Behrouz Biryani and kebabs to know more about her journey and also her love for food, travel and beyond.

Kamiya had chosen a very special biryani from Behrouz for Sanjana, which was artfully balanced with exotic spices, golden-hued basmati along with the potpourri of elegant ingredients. Behrouz biryani is one of the premium biryani brands weaved on the emotional connection of gastronomes with the dish. And soon it was realised that Sanjana is a true blue biryani lover. So much so, that she can even say that elaichi can go with chicken biryani and not with mutton biryani. Also, she loves her biryani with raita by its side.

Sanjana Sangi‘Marinations’ Are A Topic Of Discussion At My Home, Says Sanjana

Sanjana shared that her parents used to run a kebab joint in Delhi and how ‘marinations’ are a topic of discussion at her home. In Sanjana’s words, food is a celebration. She loves Mughlai Indian vibe and said that on her birthdays, butter chicken, dal and garlic naan has to happen. Sanjana also added that she has a special love for Asian food, from sushi to momos and more. The reason the royal delicacies from Behrouz were ordered is that they are perfect for every celebration. Also, Sanjana hails from a family which a melting pot of several cultures. Her mother is a Gujrati and her father is a blend of Punjabi and Marwari. And the same reflects on her love for food. She is crazy about dhoklas and at the same time, loves tandoori and butter chicken too.

Sanjana Prefers Long Drives To The Mountains Over Touristy Travel Plans

When asked about her travel desires, Sanjana said that she cherishes the memories of quickly packing the bags and driving up to the small towns of Himachal and Uttarakhand from Delhi with her family. She said that nothing can beat the feeling of those trips. She prefers doing trips like that and not in a touristy way. She also loves to spend time with the locals of the places she travels to. Like in Japan, she had stayed with a Japanese family in the countryside. In Bhutan’s Paro, she had stayed in a school to understand its mode of education. Sanjana has been actively involved in social activities and she has educated underprivileged kids. She has also trained volunteers to teach them. Sanjana has partnered with NGOs like Save The Children and Teach for India to spread the knowledge to classrooms all over India. Coming back to her travel tales, among destinations outside Asia, Sanjana had spent a quality time in Mexico.
