Lok Sabha elections in India have started. The voting began on April 19 with different places having elections on different days. Given the elections currently taking place across India, liquor sales are getting suspended temporarily. From Bengaluru to Noida to Goa, many places will follow dry days for some specific durations in view of the voting dates. To know more about these dry days, read on.

These Indian Cities Will Follow Dry Days During The Lok Sabha Elections

Several places will see the liquor shops being closed on some specifically mentioned dates. On the dates of elections and vote count, the sale of alcohol will be strictly forbidden in all these places.

Kerala:

From 6 PM on April 24 to 6 PM on April 26, there will be dry days in Kerala. Another date for the liquor sales ban will be June 4 for the elections’ vote count.

Delhi-NCR:

Delhi-NCR will observe dry days from 6 PM on April 24. This will continue till 6 PM on April 26. These dates are for the Lok Sabha elections at Ghaziabad, Gautam Buddh Nagar, and Noida. Another day of no liquor sale will be on June 4.

Bengaluru: 

The Karnataka capital will follow dry days on April 24 from 6 PM. It will be observed till midnight on April 27. The next duration of liquor places’ closure will be from June 3 to June 5.

Rajasthan: 

The duration for dry days in this state is from 6 PM on April 17 to 6 PM on April 19, from 6 PM on April 24 to 6 PM on April 26, and on June 4.

More Places Where Liquor Sale Will Be Stopped:

Maharashtra: 

Maharashtra will observe dry days starting from May 5 for Lok Sabha elections at the Baramati constituency. There will be dry days from 6 PM on May 5 to 6 PM on May 7. The next dates for dry days in this state will be from 6 PM on May 11 to 6 PM on May 13. This is for elections at the Maval, Pune, and Shirur constituencies. The last dry day date will be June 4. It is the day of the vote count.

Andhra Pradesh:

In this state, liquor shops will be closed on May 13 because of the Lok Sabha elections. Another dry day will be on June 4.

Gurgaon:

In Gurgaon, the dry days will start from 6 PM on May 23 to 6 PM on May 25. And there will be another day of liquor stores and outlets being closed on June 4.

Goa:

On the day of the election vote count on June 4, there will be a dry day in Goa.

Tamil Nadu

Tamil Nadu will have a dry day on June 4.
