The number of items removed from air passengers’ bags in different airports in India is shocking. The aviation security body stated on Monday that security personnel confiscates about 25,000 prohibited items at airports every day. In India, many travellers end up carrying many such products in both their check-in luggage and handbags and they need to throw away all these things before boarding the flight.

BCAS also informed us how the process of discovering these things and controlling the situations take about 3 minutes for every single item. Zulfiquar Hasan, the Director-General of BCAS stated how about 8 lakh hand baggage is scanned every day, according to a report by Business Standard. Passengers check in about 5 lakh items daily. And among this huge number, security discovers about 25,000 restricted items.

Passenger footfall is increasing rapidly all around the country and such a rise in banned products is surely a concern. Staff now needs to spend more time taking care of the luggage and handbags. The number of hours spent on this could have been implemented for something important. Zulfiquar Hasan mentioned how 1,250 hours can be saved only if flyers stop carrying all these restricted things in the airports.
