Indienne, a Michelin-starred Indian restaurant in Chicago, is getting noticed for its modern take on traditional Indian food. Recently, Indian diner Anushk Sharma (@anushkinusa) shared his vegetarian tasting menu experience, giving a closer look at what the restaurant offers. The menu included dhokla, pani puri, mushroom galouti, yoghurt chaat, medu vada, morel manti, assorted vegetarian kebabs, paneer kofta, and mango-based desserts.

What shocked many was that the whole meal cost him around ₹40,000. Surprisingly, Anushk wrote in his caption, “Bhot mehenga tha, but agar aapke ghar wale US aaye to bilkul leke jana, maja aaega unko.” He also mentioned that next time, he plans to bring his mom and dad along.

Here’s How His Meal Experience Went

Before serving the meal, the staff pressed the table linen and offered a complimentary drink since it was Anushk’s birthday. He first received two pieces of dhokla with a flower on top, which was actually made of chutney. Next came the mushroom galouti and pani puri, which he loved for their perfect burst of flavours.

Then he tried the medu vada, which he said was one of the most delicious he had ever tasted. The morel manti, served with Parmesan sauce, walnut truffle, and asparagus, was praised for its layered flavours. The vegetarian kebabs, served with flower-shaped fried onions, cheese, and chilli kulcha, were the highlight of the meal.

Sharma found the paneer kofta, served with floral chutneys and dal makhani, less remarkable compared to the earlier dishes. Desserts included mango-based creations, ice cream, bal mithai, and a unique plated dessert that released a coffee aroma when opened.

Sharma shared that while the meal was expensive, Indienne would be an excellent choice to at least visit once.
