Goa is on a mission. A mission to get you to appreciate its gushing, majestic waterfalls as much as its beaches. While Goa gets scores of tourists from across India and the world for its beaches. The destination now seeks to boost tourism through its waterfalls as well. So, the government is all set to give its waterfalls a facelift by developing picnic spots, hiring tour guides and much more. Read on to know all the details.

Goa To Boost Waterfall Tourism

Apart from scorching hot summers, Goa witnesses heavy rains during the monsoon season. During this time, the beach destination turns lush green and its waterfalls are gushing Goa’s most famous waterfall is the Dudhsagar Falls nestled on the Belgavi-Vasco Da Gama rail route. Other popular waterfalls are Tambdi Surla Falls, Kesarval Falls and Harvalem waterfall. But apart from Dudhsagar Falls, the other waterfalls don’t have proper infrastructure facilities to support an ever-increasing tourist footfall.

Goa Waterfalls To Get Modern Amenities

Keeping this in mind, the Goa government will soon develop proper infrastructural facilities in the surrounding areas of its waterfalls. Forest Minister Vishwajit Rane revealed to TOI that there shall be bio-toilets, picnic spots, registration counters and even tour guides at these waterfalls. Tourists will be charged a nominal entry fee, which will be used for their upkeep. Once the infrastructural facilities at the waterfalls develop this will boost tourism, accommodate tourists in a healthy manner and in turn combat pollution.
