Google is all set to build a “biophilic” office. According to a report by Financial Times, the new office complex in Manhattan will be a one-of-its-kind space, filled with greenery, birds, bees, caterpillars and even praying mantis. The tech giant wishes to encapsulate the human tendency to seek a deeper connection with nature. This will be one of the most expensive sales on an office building in US history. The architect, Rich Cook has planned 165-pound honey harvests and in-house ecologists in the office.

Outdoor Spaces, Nap Pods & More
Cook revealed to Financial Times that the intention behind building a unique office is all about recruitment and retention of talent. Defying the norms of what a regular office would look like, this Google space at St. John’s Terminal will feature numerous outdoor open spaces and nap pods. Earlier, Google CEO Sundar Pichai revealed a plan to call employees to work for three days a week and work from home for the rest.
