The Ministry of Finance brings good news for the Central government officials in India. Employees of the Central Government can now travel on Tejas-Rajdhani Express, a semi-high-speed train operated by Indian Railways, on their official tours. Yes, you heard it right! The news was revealed through a notice from the Ministry of Finance issued on Monday. Read on to know more about the details of the trains and the order by the Ministry of Finance.
What Does The Notice By The Ministry Of Finance Say?
According to an official, Tejas Express trains is now on the list of premium trains. This decision comes from the Ministry of Finance. The central government officers will now be able to avail services of these trains officially.
“The matter regarding admissibility of travel by Tejas Express Trains on official Tour has been considered in this Department. It has been decided to allow Central government employees to travel by Tejas Express Trains for the journey on Tour/Training/Transfer/Retirement, in addition to the Trains as mentioned in para 2 A (ii) of this Department’s OM of even number dated 13.07.2017. Travel entitlement in Tejas Express Trains would be same as that of Shatabdi Trains as mentioned in para 2 A (ii) of this Department’s OM of even number dated 13.07.2017,” the notice dated September 12 further reveals.
The latest order also states that as far as the persons serving in the Indian Audit and Accounts Department are concerned, these orders are issued in consultation with the Comptroller and Auditor General of India, as mandated under Article 148(5) of the Constitution of India.

Government Employees That Will Be Able To Travel Free On The Tejas Express
The notice by the Ministry reveals that Government Employees will be able to travel free on the Tejas Express trains depending on their salary. Those who will be eligible can travel in premium trains, premium tatkal trains, Duronto trains, Rajdhani and Shatabdi. The eligible central government employees will be able to travel on Tejas Express trains for a low fare or for free.
