What might come as bad news to foodies, Haryana’s iconic Sukhdev Dhaba in Murthal shut its doors as 65 of its staff tested positive for coronavirus. All the 64 staffers are asymptomatic. And are currently undergoing home quarantine. As a precautionary measure, downed its shutters till further orders. Officials informed media houses that the samples of workers at the dhaba have been taken for tests. Haryana reported the highest single-day spike of 1881 coronavirus cases with 19 deaths on August 3.

The Amrik Sukhdev Dhaba in Murthal is a favourite halt point amongst travellers. Nestled along the highway it connects Delhi with Haryana, Punjab and beyond. The butter loaded parathas attract foodies from all over the country. This dhaba witnesses a heavy footfall every day especially of people from Delhi-NCR. And its one of the largest dhabas in Murthal, a popular venue for weddings.  Unfortunately, for the time being, Amrik Sukhdev Dhaba closed its doors as 65 of its workers tested positive for Covid.

Garam Dharam Dhaba In Murthal Also Closes After 10 Workers Test Positive For Coronavirus

Meanwhile, ten workers belonging to Garam Dharam Dhaba in Murthal also tested positive for coronavirus. News agency, PTI quoted Sonipat Deputy Commissioner Shyam Lal Poonia stating this. The DC informed PTI that both Amrik Sukhdev and Garam Dharam Dhaba have been sealed until further orders. Efforts continue to trace as many contacts as possible of the positive cases. The DC also stated that the district administration shall sanitise both eateries. Sonipat district administration also ran a special drive for sampling of workers at the dhabas. And during this time they detected these cases. The district administration continues carrying routine checks at dhabas to ensure they follow all social distancing guidelines. While we can’t gorge on buttery parathas from Sukhdev Dhaba for awhile, let’s at least get nostalgic about some delicious street foods from Delhi.
