Here’s How To Make Delish Candy Canes At Home For Christmas

Christmas is just about to hit our space, and are you ready for it? Decorated Christmas trees, Christmas special cakes, gifts, pastries, and candy canes—all checked? No? Couldn’t find candy canes? Admit it, Christmas is incomplete without them. Well, no worries! We are right here, on time, to help you. Let us make candy canes at home. not at all joking! You can! It is super easy; trust us!

Candy Canes At Home

Ingredients: 

These are the ingredients you will need to make candy canes:

1 cup sugar

1 cup light corn syrup

1 teaspoon butter

1 cup water

Drops of Food Colour (red and green)

1 teaspoon peppermint extract

¼ teaspoon tartar cream

Procedure 

  1. Set aside two baking trays by greasing them well with butter. 
  2. Take a large saucepan, boil water in it.
  3. Add sugar, light corn syrup, cream of tartar and let it boil. 
  4. The next step is to measure this with a candy thermometer.
  5. The syrup must reach the soft-crack stage, which is when the thermometer will show 280 degrees. 
  6. Switch the heat off and add the peppermint extract.
  7. Add 5 to 6 drops of food colour as well. 
  8. Make sure you are stirring the syrup. 
  9. Now pour this syrup immediately on the greased trays in 8-inches strips
  10. Now wait for about 2 minutes until the product is cool for you to touch.
  11. Now quickly without wasting time, roll the strips and cut into half.
  12. The next step is to give them the shape of candy canes. 
  13. Once all the candy canes are completely cool, store them in containers.
