Here’s Your Chance To Be A Part Of Dubai Police’s Bike Patrolling Squad

Know how to ride a cycle and to help the Dubai Police? Here’s your chance! The Dubai Police has launched a new initiative called ‘Ride With Dubai Police’. The initiative requires residents to patrol certain locations in the city to inform the public about the precautionary and preventive measures in place to combat the ongoing COVD-19 pandemic.

And the best part- you’ll be given your very own ‘Dubai Police’ jacket. Those interested can apply on the Dubai Police website. You will be asked to fill out a form mentioning your personal details, Emirates ID number, and your preferred location.

In addition, those wanting to apply must also qualify for certain criteria. Riders need to be FIT, and must own their own bicycle along with a safety gear (such as a helmet and safety pads). Last and most importantly, you should be certified COVID-free. If you match all the above criteria, then it’s time to give back to the city. Go on and sign up ASAP!

Riders will be required to patrol through JBR, La Mer, Al Khawaneej, Arabian Ranches, Jumeirah, Arabian Ranches, City Walk and Downtown. Rides will be supervised at all times.

What Else?

Dubai is on a spree inventing new technology to combat Covid. After smart helmets, and sanitization walks Dubai Police are now using smart glasses. Yes, you read it right! The first in the region to use the ‘Rokid T1’, these glasses are fitted with thermal cameras and infrared rays.

The glasses use Artificial Intelligence to detect high temperature, identifying people who might be infected with Covid-19. The glass can detect the body temperature from a distance of 2-metres and can also measure the temperature of 100 people per minute. Once the glass detects a person with high temperature, it immediately alerts the officials.

The smart glasses will be used to scan people in public areas and transport stops, ensuring safety of all residents. In addition, the smart glasses can also recognize faces and sends related information about the person to the operation room.
