His Majesty The UAE’s Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, stated that the national railway network is a significant development and an ambitious goal that would help the UAE better prepare for the future. One of the region’s greatest infrastructure investments, the ambitious construction programme intends to connect the seven emirates to a main railway network.

His Majesty The freight train services have begun in all of the emirates, according to Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid.
The network aids in advancing financial opportunities while assisting enterprises. An integral part of the world supply network, the UAE National Rail Network’s main line runs from Ghuweifat, near the Saudi Arabian border, to Fujairah.

Dignitaries From All Emirates Were Present For The Inauguration
Along with Sheikh Hamdan, Crown Prince of Dubai, HH Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior and His Highness Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, were present for the event. His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Chairman of Dubai Airports and others marked their attendance at the inaugural ceremony.
They declared the start of freight train service throughout the United Arab Emirates, with a fleet of 38 locomotives and more than 1,000 carriages capable of carrying a variety of cargo. While stage two of the project began in early 2020, stage one of the System has been fully functional since January 2016.
The national railway system of the UAE will save AED8 billion in road maintenance costs while helping the national economy to the tune of AED200 billion. The anticipated AED23 billion in tourism revenue from the network.
