DigiYatra Is Now Mandatory For International Passengers At THESE 4 Indian Airports

It’s exhausting to stand in long queues for boarding passes, security checks, and more. But what if we told you there’s a quick solution to this problem? All you need to do is look at a camera, get your face scanned, and once verified, the gate opens. This is what DigiYatra is all about, and it is already available for international passengers at four airports. Read on to know more!

DigiYatra Now Compulsory For Passengers At Four Airports

DigiYatra is making air travel smoother and faster. Mathrubhumi English reported that from June 1, 2026, passengers flying internationally from Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad airports will be required to use DigiYatra. The facial recognition-based biometric system lets travellers move through checkpoints with a quick face scan.

This biometric system has already made airport journeys smoother for domestic travellers, and now international passengers can enjoy the same convenience. Instead of repeatedly showing your boarding pass for verification, all you need is a quick face scan and you’re good to go.

How Does This Biometric System Work?

Before heading to the airport, travellers need to download the DigiYatra app and upload a selfie linked to their Aadhaar details, along with their boarding pass information. It’s best to complete this process at least 48 hours before departure. Once you reach the airport, you’ll quickly notice how much time it saves.

At the airport, DigiYatra captures a live photo and matches it with the details already stored in the system. Once verified, the gate opens automatically, allowing passengers to move ahead without repeatedly showing their documents. It’s a faster, smoother, and almost hands-free airport experience.
