If you’re someone who is privileged enough to travel in planes via premium seats, then you also realise the importance of having a good airport lounge while you’re travelling. Air India is all set to enhance its access to airport lounges, both nationally and internationally. In India, the airline has increased its lounge access to a total of ten new cities! Here are all the details you need to know about this new update.

In an attempt to improve the experience of its premium customers, Air India has taken measures to improve its lounge access in the country and outside of it. Previously, it only had lounge access in a total of 16 cities. Now, the access has increased to 26.

The ten new cities which will get lounge access are Vadodara, Srinagar, Patna, Nagpur, Mangalore, Madurai, Lucknow, Jammu, Indore, and Dibrugarh. The plan to transform and improve its lounge access will be 5 years long and is called Vihaan.AI.

According to an article recently published by The Times of India, around 11 airports where there is no lounge access, the airline has collaborated with India’s premium food courts to furnish its premium customers with a diverse fare.

Vihaan.AI: Food Courts Available At 37 Airports In India

This means that Air India’s premium flyers will now be able to avail of food courts in a total of 37 airports in the country. This ensures a more comfortable travel experience where passengers don’t have to worry about their meals.

The TOI article also mentioned that Air India has taken efforts to improve lounges outside India as well. It has partnered with multiple airports and some of their best lounges available. It is hoped that this plan will help Air India improve their passenger experience.

At the Chicago Airport, it will employ the Swissport Lounge. Tokyo Narita’s Sakura Lounge will be used by Air India. At the Newark airport, it will use the SAS Lounge. Additionally, the lounges at the Dhaka airport will be moved to SilverKris Lounge and Balaka Executive Lounge.
