Booking.com and McKinsey recently revealed that Indians went on around 1.7 leisure holidays back in the year 2022. Out of this humongous number, only 1 per cent of them visited overseas. An October report showed an estimation of Indians going on about 5 billion leisure holidays by the year 2030.

Another remarkable record that India is about to achieve by 2030 is becoming the fourth-largest spender while discovering the world. An impactful reason behind the uptick is the rise in the population in the middle-income category. People are going to start earning a lot more than now which is giving them the opportunity to splurge on vacations and leisure trips. India is also home to many youngsters who are eager to take such holidays.

But now, travellers are getting eager to book vacations in small towns, offbeat places, and tier 2 and 3 cities as well. There is a reason why internationally reputed hospitality brands wish to expand in tier 2 cities. Some touristy places that are attracting these hotel chains are Bilaspur, Bodhgaya, Dharamshala, Jodhpur, Kodagu, and Raipur.
Some factors that are influencing people to take vacations are smooth and enhanced transportation facilities.
