In A First, Ayodhya To Host Ancient Sports Events & Cultural Program On Ram Navaami

Ram Navaami is a festival that’s celebrated with great pomp and show around the country, especially in the Northern belt. Commemorating the birth of Lord Rama, this festival celebrates the descent of Lord Vishnu to the Earth. And to make it all the special, the Ram Janambhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust and the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) have decided to hold a weeklong celebration in Ayodhya. From hosting ancient sports to cultural programmes, here’s what you can expect at the event.

Cultural Programmes To Happen For the 1st Time For Ram Navaami In Ayodhya

Together the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Ram Janambhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust have decided to host an exciting round of weeklong festivities in March-end to commemorate the occasion of Ram Navaami. The decision is to host ancient sports events and cultural programmes to deepen people’s connection with the festival. Not to mention, the aim is to raise the euphoria surrounding the upcoming Ram Temple in Ayodhya! These exciting functions will begin on March 21 and will feature a slew of attractions that you must watch out for. These will include:

  • The celebrations to begin on March 21 with Ramkot Parikrama
  • Sports events like kho-kho, kabaddi, and boat race are to take place till March 30, 2023.
  • Bhajan Sandhya will have Ramlila that will depict the episode of Lord Ram’s birth and religious meetings will happen.
  • There will be a special prayer at Ram Janambhoomi premises.

The Celebrations Will Happen At Ram Ki Paidi Bhajan Sandhya Sthal & Ram Katha Park

However, it’s worth mentioning that only a limited number of devotees will be allowed to enter Ram Janmabhoomi premises for security reasons. As it happens, there’s also a plan to organise the celebrations at Ram Ki Paidi Bhajan Sandhya Sthal and Ram Katha Park. Not to mention, as per a report by the Time Of India, the festival will be followed by ‘Chaurasi Kosi Parikrama’. Under this, devotees circumambulate around the pilgrimage sites in the region, which will be organised between April 6 and 28. It is expected that Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath might also attend this event.
