The aviation sector of India is all set to get an incredible boost with the addition of new airports and helipads. The upcoming routes will ease travel between destinations and will also help in promoting tourism at various places. The news helipads will also put India in an advanced position on the global tourism map. Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia announced a 100-day plan for the development of the aviation sector of India. Here is a list of the new airports and heliports that are in the works:
1. Kushinagar, Uttar Pradesh
The first airport to come up according to the plan will be in Uttar Pradesh’s Kushinagar. This airport will position Kushinagar at the focal point of the Buddhist circuit in Uttar Pradesh. Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department is also planning to launch helicopter services to improve connectivity to tourist destinations like Agra, Mathura, Varanasi, Vindhyachal, Prayagraj and Lucknow.

2. Dehradun, Uttarakhand

3. Agartala, Tripura
A new airport at Tripura’s Agartala will have an increased handling capacity of 1,200 passengers per hour, as compared to the present rate of 500 passengers per hour. It will be constructed at an estimated cost of ₹490 crores. Tripura’s Agartala is The Top Smart City In Northeast India

4. Jewar, Noida
The most talked-about Jewar International Airport in Noida will take up in a couple of years. With this airport, Delhi NCR will be the first region in India to have two commercial international airports. The cost for the Jewar Airport is estimated to be approximately ₹30,000 crores.

5. Sindhudurg, Maharashtra
Also known as Chipi Airport, this airport coming up along the picturesque Konkon coast of Maharashtra. It will improve accessibility to the Konkon region and nearby tourist destinations like Sindhudurg Fort and Tarkarli. It will also ease accessibility to Goa.
