Our latest episode of Sunday Brunch was iconic, to say the least. Our Editor-in-Chief, Kamiya Jani, was with none other than Karan Aujla, fondly known as the Geeta Di Machine. And in this episode, we got him to try some Mumbai ka street food for the first time ever. And no surprises there, he totally loved it all. But this episode also shed light on his life like never before, where we got to know about his childhood memories, his village, his friends, his love for food, and a lot more. Even after years of living abroad, he still has a special place in his heart for his village. And he also has big plans for it. To know what they are, read on.
Karan Aujla Has Big Plans For His Village In Punjab
While discussing Karan Aujla’s childhood memories with his parents, it was evident that he fondly remembers all the time he spent in his village, Ghurala, in Punjab. But does he still have friends there? He revealed that he does, but most of the people are older than him. People he used to be friends with in school have now moved abroad. With a glimmer of pride in his eyes, he happily shared how he, along with other people from the village, is now building a park just for kids and women so that they have a place to hang out.
While sharing memories of his village, he revealed that now that he has risen to fame, everyone in his village feels immense pride, as if he were their own son. But it wasn’t that way right away, because every time somebody gets famous, people around them assume that they have turned into a big shot. But when he went back there and called everyone by the nicknames they used when they were young, they were surprised.
The special place that this village holds in his heart was truly evident in the way that he was speaking. So much so that he also revealed that he wants to simply turn his village, Ghurala, into heaven. He wants that place to have just enough that it becomes a place to chill. He wants there to be a school, a stadium, and a hospital – just what the people there need.

His Special Memory Of His Mother
In this episode, we also found out about one memory with his mother that he completely cherishes. Once in school, one of his friends had a fancy pencil that he brought back home with him. As soon as he started writing with it, his mother pointed it out and asked where he got it from. While he replied that his friend gave it to him, she refused to believe him and thought that he had stolen it. He even fondly remembered the slap that she gave him because of this.
While he thought that this was finally over, the next morning, she accompanied him to school because she wanted to talk to the principal about her son stealing a pencil. But when the friend himself admitted that he had given Karan the pencil, his mother was loving and coddling him.
