FIFA World Cup: 47% Indian Singles Will Stay Awake Till 3 AM To Watch Match With Their Crush

As the FIFA World Cup 2026 keeps football fans glued to their screens for hours, Indian singles are finding a new reason to tune in. For them, the game is not just about cheering for their favourite teams or celebrating victories. It is also becoming a fun way to connect, bond, and even spark new romances. Read on to find out what dating app happn discovered when it surveyed Indian singles this football season.

How Is Football Shaping Dating For Indian Singles?

Dating app happn surveyed over 3,000 people across India to understand how football, FIFA World Cup, is shaping their definition of dating. The survey found that dating and football are now going hand in hand. When asked if they would stay awake for a 3 AM football match, 47% said they would do it for their long-term partner. Interestingly, 44% said they would happily lose sleep for a new crush, too.

Instead of watching the match alone, 93% of singles said they would consider watching a match with their crush. Among them, 32% would immediately say yes, while 34% said it would depend on the person. Only 7% were completely against the idea.
