Good news for travellers in South India! Andhra Pradesh is all set to play a key role in the region’s planned bullet train network after the National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) agreed to the state’s proposal to track the Hyderabad-Amaravati-Chennai High Speed Rail Corridor through Amaravati. Andhra Pradesh To Get The Longest Stretch Of The Bullet Train Corridor

According to a News18 report, the suggested Hyderabad-Amaravati-Chennai High Speed Rail Corridor will stretch 760.09 km across the state of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. Andhra Pradesh will have the biggest share of the route, extending to 518.54 km, followed by 180.32 km in Telangana and 61.23 km in Tamil Nadu.

The highway is planned to have 18 stations, with nine stations in Andhra Pradesh, the highest number among the three states. Significant stops are likely to include Amaravati, Guntur, Nellore and Tirupati, which will make the state the most connected section of the high-speed rail network.

Chittoor-Tirupati Link To Boost South India’s Connectivity

As per the news portal, the NHSRCL has also decided to conduct a final location survey and produce a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for a 65-km Chittoor-Tirupati link corridor. Once finished, the DPR will be delivered to the Union Railway Ministry for approval.

The suggested link will connect the Hyderabad-Amaravati-Chennai bullet train track with the upcoming Chennai-Bengaluru High Speed Rail Corridor. This will also enable travellers to travel smoothly between Bengaluru, Chittoor, Tirupati and Amaravati.

The project is expected to substantially improve connectivity across southern India. With pilgrims travelling to the Tirumala Temple among the biggest beneficiaries. Well, all thanks to faster and more convenient high-speed rail travel.
