Air New Zealand Launches Sleeping Pods
As per a report by NDTV, the Auckland-based airline is all set to begin offering economy passengers four-hour naps in private pods on selected long-haul flights. Air New Zealand has made the latest addition to its economy class. Air New Zealand is famous for operating scheduled passenger flights to around 20 domestic and 28 international destinations across 18 countries.
At an event in New York on Tuesday, Air New Zealand launched its first-ever Skynest pods. The pods feature a series of six sleeping pods decorated with purple light. The best part? The private pods are arranged like bunk beds, one on top of another. The pods can accommodate up to six people at once and will replace five seats on the new Boeing 787-9 aircraft. The new aircraft will also feature an expanded premium-class configuration.
Additionally, the airline revealed that the Skynest pod service will debut in November on flights between New York and Auckland. The airline will feature its new bunk-bed-like sleeping pods on Boeing 787-9 jets that operate the airline’s longest route.
