Instagram user Aussie Bhai (@theaussiebhai) shared a video from Delhi Airport. In the clip, he stood next to a sign explaining how passengers can connect to the airport’s free Wi-Fi using an Indian mobile number. The influencer appeared confused by the requirement and questioned its logic, saying it “makes absolutely no sense.”

He said that he would not need Wi-Fi if he already had an Indian number and would need it only if he did not have one. His observation quickly caught the attention of social media users and sparked a debate online.

How Foreign Travellers Can Use Free Wi-Fi?

Responding to the viral reel, Delhi Airport commented to clear the confusion. It explained that the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) guidelines require all users of public Wi-Fi networks to complete a verification process before accessing the service. If a passenger does not have an Indian number, there is a solution for that as well.

To help passengers who face difficulties during registration, the airport offers several support options. These include password vending kiosks, dedicated support staff available round the clock, assistance at information desks, and a dedicated Wi-Fi support helpline.

Many users reacted to the viral post, sparking a debate online. One user commented, “I agree 100%. I struggle every time I land.”

Another user wrote, “I thought I was the only one who was pissed about this.”

It seems that many travellers were not aware of the services Delhi Airport provides.
