In Bengaluru, the metro is a lifeline for daily commuters, so imagine the situation if its services suddenly face a disruption. Thousands of people would be left stranded, and that’s exactly what happened on Tuesday evening. A technical issue on the Purple Line turned the daily commute into a stressful experience for many passengers across the city. Read on to know what happened!

Bengaluru Metro Disruption Turns Evening Commute Into A Nightmare

On Tuesday evening, when thousands of people were heading home after work, Namma Metro stopped working. Why? A technical snag on the Purple Line around 6:30 PM disrupted services. Due to this, several commuters were left stranded across stations. As per India Today, the problem was first noticed in a train at Cubbon Park Metro Station.

What made the situation more stressful was that the Purple Line is one of Bengaluru’s busiest metro routes. It is used by thousands of people every day, especially those travelling to and from Whitefield. So, when the technical issue occurred, it created a major problem for commuters.

BMRCL revealed that metro services were suspended between Majestic and MG Road while repair teams worked on fixing the issue. Reports suggest that the snag may have been connected to the third rail system.
