Muthukrishnan Dhandapani (@dmuthuk) took to X to share that during a group tour to Japan, an Indian woman was caught shoplifting at a souvenir shop by the shopkeeper. He shared in the post that she had been shoplifting throughout the tour, but the group wasnβt aware of this.
βIn one of the tourist souvenir shops, she was caught. She immediately offered to pay money. He said more than stealing, what offended him was offering money after being caught,β he shared in the post.
The shopkeeper eventually called the police, who arrested the woman and took her to the station, accompanied by the groupβs tour manager. However, the woman reportedly repeated the same mistake. βEven at the police station, the lady offered money. The Japanese police were not amused,β the post noted.

However, she was eventually let off with a stern warning. Since then, the incident has sparked widespread discussion online, with many Desi netizens calling it deeply embarrassing.
