Madhav National Park, in the Shivpuri district of Madhya Pradesh, lost all its wild tigers in the late 1970s. However, wildlife lovers would be happy to know that two tigers have now been reintroduced to the park to revive the reserve. Here’s what we know about the development so far.
Madhav National Park Gets Two New Tigers
No wild tigers have been spotted in Madhav National Park since the late 1970s, but now there is good news! According to Tatsat Chronicle, in an effort to repopulate the reserve, Madhya Pradesh has reintroduced two tigers here. A four-year-old male from Satpura Tiger Reserve and a three-and-a-half-year-old female from Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve were relocated recently.
They are being kept in specially created soft enclosures so that they can get used to their new surroundings. Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Bhupender Yadav recently made this announcement on social media. Many wildlife lovers were genuinely happy when they got to know about this news.

One Of The Oldest National Parks In Madhya Pradesh
You would like to know that Madhav National Park is one of the oldest national parks in Madhya Pradesh. According to Tatsat Chronicle, the place was home to several tigers in the past. Moreover, the location of the park is also quite significant, as it has the potential to connect with Panna Tiger Reserve, which is one of the best tiger reserves in India.
To re-establish Madhav National Park as a place to spot tigers, Madhya Pradesh has also built enclosures that are interconnected through gates. These enclosures have provisions for water, shade and natural tree cover. The newly introduced tigers will be monitored round the clock, and a full-time veterinary doctor will also keep an eye on their health and behaviour.
