With ₹33.42 crore, Barabanki Junction, one of Northern Railway’s oldest railway stops, will be redeveloped. The plan calls for the NR to create a circulating area in order to facilitate passenger traffic flow. In addition, new buildings will be erected at both the main and secondary entries for the convenience of the travellers.

The station will have a portico and a contemporary facade constructed to improve its aesthetics. This plan also calls for the construction of a roof plaza-style Fixed Offshore Platform, measuring 12 metres in width.

A number of facilities for travellers with special needs will be installed in addition to the lifts and escalators. The circular area’s roads will be made wider. The construction of signage, display boards, LED-based station boards, coach guidance display boards, train information display systems, food plazas, retail establishments, waiting areas, and executive lounges are also planned.
