India’s First Centralised AC Railway Terminal To Come Up In Bengaluru & It’s Gorgeous

One of India’s foremost Civil Engineers, Sir M. Visvesvaraya, adorned several hats during his lifetime. He helped construct some of the most famous and lasting architectural wonders around the country, and he also served as a statesman and the 19th Diwan of Mysore from 1912 to 1919. Now, Karnataka is revering their golden child with India’s first centralized AC railway terminal in Bengaluru. Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal’s images caught the netizen by storm! Bengaluru To Get Centralised AC Railway Terminal Like An Airport

Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal shared some images of India’s first centralized AC railway terminal at Bengaluru. These images clearly depict that the upcoming Sir M. Visvesvaraya Terminal which will be equipped with all the latest facilities. The railway terminal claims to have an airport-like aura and will feature an upper-class waiting hall, VIP lounge with a digital real-time passenger information system, along with a lavish food court. This railway terminal will also have its own water recycling plant of 4 lakh-litre capacity.

Lavish Food Court, Bridge, Sprawling Parking Area & More

The sprawling parking area would accommodate around 250 cars, 900 two-wheelers, 50 autorickshaws, five BMTC buses, and 20 cabs. The total cost of this project is ₹314-crore with 4,200 sqm. It is said to cater to a daily footfall of 50,000 people with 50 trains operated from the terminal. With seven platforms, there is also an afoot over-bridge that will link all of them. Apart from seven platforms, this terminal has eight stabling lines and three pit lines. The escalators and lifts will connect seven platforms to facilitate passenger movement. The railway terminal at the city’s Baiyappanahalli area, named after Bharat Ratna Sir M. Visvesvaraya, would be ready by the end of February.
