India’s First-Ever AI University To Open In Karjat; Will Commence from Aug 1

Artificial Intelligence, or AI, is the next big thing that is said to change the world as we know it. Almost every major discourse is abuzz with conversation about this new topic. Owing to its potential, a mastery of AI or related fields can yield large and lucrative employment opportunities. Keeping this in mind, the first university in the country solely dedicated to AI has been established. This AI university will commence its first session in August.

The country’s first dedicated AI University, Universal AI University, is set up in Maharashtra in Karjat near Mumbai. The university will have a green campus and was approved by the Higher Technical and Education Department of the Government of Maharashtra.

On the 25th of January, the university received the Letter of Commencement from the Maharashtra Government. The university will have postgraduate and undergraduate programmes dedicated to and specialising in AI and AI-related subjects.

In addition to this, it will also offer other courses in fields like Liberal Arts and Humanities, Environment and Sustainability, Global Affairs, Diplomacy and Law, Sport Sciences, etc. The university is all set to begin its first academic session on the first of August.

Universal AI University

This particular university was founded by Tarundeep Singh Anand who is the chairperson and founder of Universal Business School. According to Anand, a university dedicated to AI will help the growth of the country and will enable it to compete at the international frontier.

The Mohamed Bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence was the first university in the world dedicated to AI and Machine Learning or ML. The university is in Abu Dhabi and was established by Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The university plans on training its students in skills related to AI and ML. This will ensure that the students are equipped with the skills required in the market.
