In a tragic incident, Indore’s Beleshwar temple floor collapsed during Ram Navami celebrations. This led to several devotees falling into a stepwell after the floor sank. This incident took place at Shri Beleshwar Mahadev Jhulelal Temple in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. Videos and photographs of the incident have been circulating on the Internet as rescue operations are taking place.
Indore Temple Collapse Leaves Several Trapped
According to a report by India Today, devotees at Indore’s Beleshwar temple were standing on the stepwell covering when it collapsed. Around 25 devotees fell inside the well and were trapped. This incident took place in the Patel Nagar area of the city. Efforts are being carried out to rescue the worshippers trapped. Ten people have been rescued after the accident. And efforts are being undertaken to rescue the rest.

Eyewitnesses revealed to India Today that two dozen people were standing on the covering of the well inside the temple when it collapsed. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan revealed on Twitter that there have been no casualties. He assured everyone about being in touch with the local authorities about the same. The CM further added that 10 people have been evacuated, and 9 more are safe inside. Rescue operations are going on in full swing.

Rescue Operations Take Place As Nation Offers Prayers
Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted that the MP state government is carrying out rescue and relief work at a quick pace. He offered his prayers to the affected and their families. Indore Commissioner tweeted about the ongoing relief work. Defence Minister, Rajnath Singh said he is deeply pained by the accident. He prayed for the well-being of the people trapped in this accident.

Meanwhile, photos and videos of the accident and rescue operations are going viral on Twitter. The Indore temple collapse incident has left everyone in shock. It’s unfortunate that it happened during the Ram Navami celebrations. one Netizen stated that if only someone complained about the temple located on the stepwell roof, this incident could have been avoided.
