Spiritual tourism is on a boom in India right now, especially after the Ram Mandir inauguration in January. Seeing this growth, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has launched a Ramayana circuit tourism train called ‘Shri Ramayana Yatra’. This train will travel across some important places associated with Lord Ram and Ramayan in 18 days. IRCTC has also flagged off a special yatra train on this route for the NRIs in Delhi recently. Shri Ramayana Yatra: Spiritual Tourist Train Circuit To Boost Tourism
As part of the Swadesh Darshan scheme, IRCTC is all set to launch another tour of the Shri Ramayana Yatra on March 5. This sacred train circuit will cover important places associated with Ramayana and aims to boost tourism in these areas. The Shri Ramayana Yatra tour will run on a state-of-the-art Bharat Gaurav Deluxe AC Tourist train. It will be able to accommodate 156 passengers and cover 15 places and destinations in this 18-day tour. Prominent boarding stations on this tour will be Delhi, Ghaziabad, Aligarh, Tundla, Etawah, Kanpur, and Lucknow.

As for the itinerary, the cities covered will be Ayodhya, Nandigram, Janakpur, Sitamarhi, Buxar, Varanasi, Prayagraj, Shringverpur, Chitrakoot, Nashik, Hampi, Rameshwaram, Bhadrachalam, and Nagpur.
As per IRCTC’s website, the price per person on the tour begins at ₹94,600. This will include train, bus, hotels, meals, guide, and insurance charges throughout the journey.

Union Minister Meenakshi Lekhi flagged off the ‘Shri Ramayan Yatra’ tourist train for NRIs from Delhi’s Safdarjung Railway Station on February 4. The train was run exclusively for NRI tourists from the UK & Portugal with some Indians onboard as well. The train will run on a similar route and cover the same itinerary as mentioned above.
