Jumeirah Opens Its First ‘Eco-Friendly’ Resort In Abu Dhabi

The earth needs some serious help. With a lot of ongoing discussions on sustainability, and climate change, there are multiple ways you can contribute to bringing the damage down. Perhaps on your next holiday could be one. The Jumeirah group has come up with the ultimate eco-friendly holiday destination right here in Abu Dhabi.

What’s It?

Located in the centre of Saadiyat Island in Abu Dhabi overlooking the Louvre – Jumeirah at Saadiyat Island Resort is turning out to be one of the hippest centre of attractions in the country.

Surrounded by surreal elements of nature, the resort is also a refuge for creatures like nesting turtles, sea turtles and some endangered species as well. The beach, the dunes and the other elements combine to make one of the most sustainable resorts in the continent.

Offering uninhibited views and an up, close and personal experience with wildlife, this is a perfect getaway to calm your nerves and disconnect.

What’s In It?

The Resort has over 250 rooms, cosy private villas (2 bedrooms, 3 bedrooms and 4 bedrooms), some mesmerizing views at the infinity pool and a grand pool for kids to splash around.

Apart from being a scenic delight, the resort lets you enjoy an eco-friendly experience. Everything in the resort from water bottles to toiletries are made with alternative sources other than non-biodegradable plastic. Also, there are initiatives in and around the resort that use techniques to conserve resources like power and water (refill stations for water can be found around the place). And lastly, in case you need to know more about the eco-friendly approach, there are in-house sessions to educate the guests.

What Else?

The resort is also equipped with wellness activities, designed to promote detoxing with a touch of holistic practices. Spend a day at the spa, and de-stress with hydrotherapy, sauna, or jacuzzi. There’s also a fully equipped gym in case you want to work up a sweat.
