We all love the outdoors, don’t we? And if the weather plays it along, then the fun only doubles. This winter UAE launched four new outdoor activities, suiting all age groups. From spending a night in the dunes to a one of a kind stay over in a theme park and a high-speed slide, UAE has a host of new outdoor activities to offer. Check out the list and plan your weekend in advance!

1. Camp Under The Stars

If you wish to plan a weekend getaway, head to Nara Escape– a luxury desert camp offering accommodation in nomadic tents. For AED 1500, you can spend a night at a nomadic tent in the desert as well as  enjoy a host of activities including camel riding, sand boarding, and belly dancing or simply revel in the beauty of the sunset.

Kids can play treasure hunt, have fun at the pajama party, sign up for a story telling session or enjoy a movie under the stars. And if you simply wish to relax and unwind, opt for a Thai massage or head on a Nature tour.

Here’s a little itinerary of the weekend getaway at Nara Escape:

  • The Chauffeur service will collect you from your hotel/home
  • Plan for a 30-40 minutes drive from Dubai
  • Choose from a gentle desert drive or a camel ride to reach our Camp
  • Arrive at the Camp
  • Enjoy the activities you have selected or simply revel in the beauty of the sunset
  • Dinner will be served at your preferred time
  • Coffee and tea will be offered and be entertained by one of our amazing talented artists
  • Return to Dubai after dinner or sleep in one of our beautiful nomadic tents
  • Breakfast will be served in the early hours
  • Return to Dubai

2. Stay Overnight At Laguna Waterpark

Laguna waterpark has launched a cool, overnight camping experience- ‘The Camp’ that will let you pitch a tent and stay in the park’s cool ambiance.

Scheduled every Thursday and Friday, the overnight camp starts off at 5:00 pm. Thrill seekers can hit the slides, ride down the WaveOZ 180 FlowRider or tuck into a host of dining options. Post this, you can get busy with a whole lot of fun activities- play board games, watch a family-friendly film, or simply peace out in front of the campfire.

In the morning, you will be handed over fresh eggs, tomatoes, onions, with fresh Arabic bread, labneh and cheese, so you can cook at live cooking stations. The checkout timing is at 10:00 am, but you cold stay back and choose to enjoy the unlimited access to the park, including unlimited food and beverages. As for the prices, a tent that can accommodate two people will cost you AED 700 while a tent for four will cost you AED 1,200.

The new experience will officially be open from 20 and 21 February. However, bookings are open right now.

3. Jais Adventure Peak

Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority (RAKTDA) unveiled the Jais Adventure Peak, a collection of thrilling adventure attractions perched atop the UAE’s highest mountain, Jebel Jais. The Jais Sky Maze is open for adventure seekers of all ages. Take to the sky and navigate through several obstacles including rope swings, wobbly bridges, swinging loops and more, while being suspended 10 metres above the ground.

Timings: Wednesday to Sunday and public holidays, 9.30am to 5.30pm
Cost: AED 75

4. High-Speed Drop-In Slide At Hatta

Hatta now has a mini adventure park! Drop-in will let you slide down at speeds up to 40 to 80km/h and drop into a head-down into a pool. And this is not the only one. There are a host of slides to pick from, each with a different level of thrill. While some fly down straight, dropping you into a pool of water, a few others will bounce you across the surface of the water. Dare to take the plunge?

The attraction is open from 8:30 am to 6:00 pm. Tickets are priced at AED 75 for 30 minutes. Children above the age of six enter for AED 45.
