Kids in the UAE can now take the covid-19 vaccine as per the latest update. The Ministry of Health and Prevention announced that teenagers aged 16 and above are now eligible to take the vaccine. Previously, people under 18 weren’t allowed to be vaccinated, in the UAE- however, now the rules have been changed.

UAE Has Two Vaccinations Which Can Be Taken By The Citizens
When it comes to covid-19 vaccines, two vaccines are available in the UAE. The Sinopharm vaccine from China was approved for nationwide use on December 9. The Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine was first administered in Dubai two weeks later. Free and voluntary vaccination campaigns are underway for both.

The Nation Aims To Vaccinate 50 Per Cent Of Its Residents In The First Quarter Of 2021
In terms of vaccine, the ministry announced that 84,852 vaccine doses were administered across the country in the past 24 hours. When it comes to age restrictions for the vaccine, they are put in place because not enough testing is done on children during the trials. However, last month, the US Centres for Disease Control and Prevention panel voted unanimously to recommend the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine for people 16 years and older. Hence, children aged over 16 can now take the vaccine.

The UAE is way ahead in terms of vaccination. The health authorities recently announced that over a million have been vaccinated in the country. The total number of vaccinated residents is over 1.02 million, with a distribution rate of 10.32 doses per 100 people. The health authorities in the country aim to vaccinate over 50 per cent of its residents in the first quarter of this year.
Where Can You Get Vaccinated?
Dubai
For people living in Dubai, you can get the vaccine at Dubai Parks and Resorts field hospital.
Abu Dhabi
Abu Dhabi-ites can get the vaccine at the clinics run by Seha, the emirate’s public health operator, and at hospitals and clinics run by VPS Healthcare.
Sharjah
For people of Sharjah, the vaccine is available at Wasit Medical Centre, from 4 to 9 PM.
Ajman
In Ajman, you can get the vaccine at Al Humaidiya Centre, from 9 AM to noon and 5 to 8 30 PM.
Umm Al Quwain
For residents of Umm Al Quwain, the vaccine is available at Al Bait Metwahid centre. From 8 AM to 1 PM.
Cost Of Vaccine And Booking
In terms of the cost, the vaccine is available for free in all the emirates for now. And for booking a slot for your vaccination, you need to call up the hospitals and clinics. You can ask them more about it while booking the vaccine.
