No matter which city or state you are in, exploring it isn’t that easy — as you don’t know the routes and you have to figure it all out by yourself. It sometimes results in a waste of your time. Tourists generally face this issue and it affects their tour experience. But not anymore in Kolkata. The city of Kolkata will soon be introducing an exclusive pickup and drop service for tourists. Exclusive Service For Tourists In Kolkata

Considering the issues faced by tourists while they explore the city, Kolkata has decided to bring in this exclusive service. This pickup and drop service for tourists will surely make Kolkata a tourist-friendly destination in India. The city will soon have tourist pickup and drop points. The service will be made available across the ‘City of Joy’.

With this service, tour operators can easily pick up tourists or drop them to their desired destinations easily. The points will be located at strategic locations in the city. Only the vehicles which are commercially registered under the Association of Tourism Service Providers of Bengal (ATSP) will be allowed to pick up or drop off tourists from these points.

A Boon For Tourists

The vehicles registered and allowed for this service will be permitted to stop for about 5-10 minutes at these points. The Department of Tourism, West Bengal will soon launch this service. The officials from the tourism department, Kolkata Municipal Corporation, Kolkata Traffic Police and Department of transport together inspected the city and finalised the points.

The commercially registered vehicles will have 10 seats excluding the driver. West Bengal Chapter Chairman, IATO, Debjit Dutta said that he is very happy about this decision and feels proud about being a part of this initiative. This initiative is surely going to act as a boon for all the tourists and tour operators as their movements will be more seamless.
