Active coronavirus cases are rising in different parts of India. It is indeed a concern among many and concerned departments are already taking measures to control the spike in numbers. Amid the scare among locals and travellers due to the ongoing increase in positive COVID cases, the Leh district administration announced a guideline to follow. Issued on January 1, 2024, the Leh district administration stated that it is now mandatory to wear masks in public places.

This is a significant measure of the administration in response to the surge in coronavirus cases. The concerned departments are taking action in an attempt to control the virus spreading among people. It was only the previous week when the Leh district saw 11 new cases.

Santosh Sukhadeve, the chief executive officer of the District Disaster Management Authority, shared how the precautionary measures need to be followed strictly to curb the spread of the virus. People should wear face masks in offices, workplaces, public transport, and public places, according to a report by Hindustan Times.

Follow These Rules While Travelling In This Destination

The rules and regulations are not only restricted to wearing face masks in public places. People must follow and maintain social distancing in all public places, according to the official order. In fact, the directive and its rules are to be maintained inside closed premises such as offices as well.

The chief medical officer has the responsibility to look after and observe the status of cases and also give updates to the District Disaster Management Authority.
