The pool will be located on the top of a 55-story building. The floors and sides will be kept transparent, allowing visitors to see the swimmers and the sky above.

What’s In It?

The creators faced a number of challenges while conceptualizing the pool, the biggest one being how will the swimmers get in/out of the pool. They did not want to spoil the aesthetics of the pool by adding a ladder outside.

After a lot of brainstorming, they planned that the swimmers will access the pool via a spiral staircase based on the door of a submarine rising from the floor of the pool.

The pool will also be fitted with a built-in anemometer to monitor the wind speed and the water will be heated using waste energy from the building’s air conditioning system. It will also be linked to a computer controlled building management system that will regulate the pool’s temperature and also ensure that the water from the pool does not spill into the streets below.

Infinity London plans for a five-star hotel to occupy the top floors of the tower, with the pool available for guests to use. While a location for the project has not yet been confirmed, the construction is deemed to start in 2020.
