Maharashtra Government Is Hosting A Wine Festival From 9th Feb To 11th March

Promoting wines from 14 wineyards in Nashik, Maharashtra is organizing its first ever wine festival‘India Grape Harvest, Wine Festival 2018’.

What Is It?

In the aim to promote agro-and wine tourism, Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) works to develop tourism in rural areas of the country. The India Grape Harvest Wine Festival is organized in and around Nashik district of Maharashtra to exhibit the best of wines from these regions. This festival will include wines from various wineyards, cultural and social events along with carnivals.

What’s In It?

Nearly 70 wines from in and around Nashik will be available to the guests at this event. Not just that, there will be interactive sessions from Indian and foreign wine manufacturing firms including representatives from Stuttgart (Germany), Wakayama (Japan) and France. Guests can also indulge in grape stomping, barbecue nights, live music sessions, photography and camping events too.

Where Will Be Be Held? 

Currently, there are two locations for the event – Vallonne vineyard and Vinchur wine park. Guests can experience local cuisines along with wines from nearly 14 wineyards. There will also be cooking with wine sessions to get the best of food and wine. The festival will begin with the inauguration of the Sahyadri farm, a grape processing center which is run by 6,000 farmers. The closing ceremony will be held within Nashik City and it will be a 4 km long stretch of carnival.
