On the occasion of the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial was inaugurated in Podanur, Coimbatore. The memorial is an ode to Gandhi’s journey and contribution to India’s freedom struggle. Aside from this, Smt Krishnammal Jegannathan, who inaugurated this memorial in Coimbatore is known to be a close associate of Gandhi. A House Renovated & Turned Into The Mahatma Gandhi Memorial
The Covaipost reported on how the entire aim of the memorial was to take the concept of Gandhism to the future generation. And, it is through such initiatives that the legacy of Gandhi will continue to live on. Further, it was only recently, that Gandhi’s visit to Podanur was discovered by Dr Krishnaraj Vanavarayar, Chairman, Kumaraguru Institutions. During the event, Dr Krishnaraj urged people to bring their children to this memorial of Gandhi and get them acquainted with the greatness of the Mahatma.

Memorial Opened To The Public
It is the 153rd year of Gandhi’s birth anniversary, and with the inauguration of the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial, there will only be further propagation of ahimsa and non-violence. The whole nation, along with the world, on October 2, 2022, celebrated the birth anniversary of the father of our nation. Politicians, leaders, and entertainment personalities paid homage to the leader who fought relentlessly in getting India its freedom from the British.
