We have all seen many cases where vegetable vendors resort to various wrong practices to make the veggies look fresh. Hence, many of us are more careful and check veggies properly before buying them. But in a viral video, what we saw was completely horrifying. The video showed a way of adulterating vegetables putting them in a chemical solution to make them look completely fresh, and netizens were completely shocked.
Man Dips Veggies Into A Chemical Solution
A video is making the rounds on the internet and was shared by a Twitter user named Amit Thadani. The video features a man who dips a bunch of stale-looking vegetable leaves into a liquid chemical solution. He then places it back on a surface to dry. What happens next is horrifying.
Within no time, the stale-looking leaves turn into super fresh ones. The camera is zoomed in on the veggies dipped in the solution, where one can clearly see the leaves opening up. The veggies look like freshly plucked after the solution on it dries up.

Amit shared the video with a caption that called this video a two-minute horrifying story. He also mentioned that this video was from a LinkedIn post by Devarajan Rajagopalan.

Netizens Are Completely Shocked
This video of a man dipping the veggies in a chemical solution has garnered over one million views. Netizens could not help but reshare this video, making it viral.

Many of them shared their reactions in the comments section. Netizens were concerned after looking at the video and could not understand whether to trust their local vendors or not. Others wanted to know what chemical it is and how one can differentiate between the actual fresh one and the other.
Chemicals such as copper sulfate, rhodamine oxide, malachite green and calcium carbide are used for this.

Buy from personally known sources, wash very thoroughly, if possible grow your own veggies. Green leafy vegetables can be grown at home with very compact hydroponic systems.
