Food is a serious business in India. A little slip can get you arrested. That is exactly what happened with this restaurant owner in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. Apparently, there was a blunder in serving biryani to a customer who doesn’t eat meat due to his religious beliefs.

Complaint Against The Owner

According to DCP Sampat Upadhyay, the victim was a regular customer and had the same biryani. However, this time it was different. The owner has a complaint registered against him under the IPC Section 298, a non-bailable offence for a deliberate attempt of hurting the religious sentiments of any person. For now, the matter is under investigation, and further decisions will revolve around it.

A similar incident happened with another man who had ordered a paneer burger. He received a chicken burger instead of his original order. Restaurants that serve both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food should keep their kitchens separate. Moreover, the delivery in charge should double-check the order before packing it.
