Indians Prefer Travel To Mountains Over Beaches This Summer 2022
According to OYO’s Mid-Summer Vacation Index 2022, 30 per cent of Indian vacationers voted Manali in Himachal Pradesh as the favourite travel destination in India. As per the report, 61 per cent of Indian holidaymakers plan to go on vacation this summer with 30 per cent of them planning to visit Manali. This is followed by Kashmir, Sikkim, Ooty and McLeodganj as other popular travel destinations. With hill stations emerging as the favourites, it shows that Indians love visiting the mountains during summers.

Domestic Travel Is The Clear Winner
The report further highlights the trend that Indians are open to taking smaller breaks, going for workations and even planning last minute holidays. They make travel bookings at the very last minute and go on spontaneous vacations. The survey also shows taht 94 per cent of travellers want to go on domestic holidays despite international borders having opened for tourists. Almost 1 in 3 travellers want to travel to the mountains in summer. This is followed by beaches, waterfalls, riverside and others. But the mountains is the clear winner.
