Al Khobar’s wellness calendar is about to get a little calmer. Kempinski Al Othman Hotel Al Khobar will host a floating Sound Bath on Water this Saturday, October 24, bringing a trend already seen in Riyadh to the Eastern Province.
What Happens On The Water
The idea is simple. Guests lie on a floating mattress in a swimming pool while soothing sounds play around them. There is no swimming, no exercise and no skill required. The whole session rests on one instruction: lie back and switch off.
The experience takes place at The Spa’s indoor pool and is open to women only. Instead of booking another massage or joining a yoga class, participants spend the time floating and listening.
Why Sound Baths Keep Growing
Sound baths have become a fixture of the wellness scene. Sessions typically use instruments such as singing bowls and gongs to produce sounds and vibrations meant to encourage relaxation. Holding the session on water adds the gentle motion of the pool to the mix.
Riyadh has already hosted several floating wellness events, including a session at Mansard Riyadh and an outdoor edition under the stars. Al Khobar residents now get a version of their own.

A Different Kind Of Weekend Plan
For anyone curious about sound healing, or simply looking for a fresh way to unwind with a friend, the session is an easy introduction. Doing nothing is the entire point, which sets it apart from the busier options on a typical spa menu.
