Yellow Alert Issued As Mumbai Monsoon Arrives 2 Days Early

According to an article which was recently published by CNBC, the monsoon in Mumbai was two days earlier than usual. As per the article, the usual date for monsoon rains in Mumbai is June 11. However, this time, the first rain pelted the city on Sunday, June 9, 2024.

The IMD has issued a yellow alert for the ‘City Of Dreams’. In addition to Mumbai, other parts of Maharashtra have also received heavy rains. A red alert has been issued for the Sindhudurg region. Additionally, the IMD has issued an orange alert for Ratnagiri and a yellow alert for Palghar.

The article also went on to mention that last year, in 2023, the rain arrived in the city on June 24. This was much later than its usual date and the delay was caused by the cyclone Biparjoy.
